    Our client is an award-winning data and technology management company with a global presence providing customized solutions across the entire Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), including information governance. They have an immediate opening for a Director of IT & Applications.

     

    Position Summary: The Director of IT and Applications Group oversees the planning, development, implementation, use, and maintenance of technology throughout the company. Areas of responsibility include the full range of enterprise wide information systems, telecommunications, information security, and business continuity. The Director works closely with staff and the Executive Team to assess current and future user and client needs, develop practical solutions and lead company-wide efforts to apply technical solutions to improve business operations.

     

    This position reports to the Chief Information Officer and supervises the IT Specialist, Systems Administrator, Application Specialist Group, and vendors of IT products and services.

     

    Essential Job Duties:

    Strategy, Budget, and Planning

    Work across the organization to develop strategies, priorities, and plans to enhance client services, improve user effectiveness, and foster innovation.

    Manage financial aspects of the IT Division; including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review

    Keep current with the latest technologies and identify new solutions to business and technical requirements.

    Develop and maintain plans for the evolution of capabilities to meet emerging business, market, security, and stability requirements while maintaining cost effectiveness and scalability.

    Program Management

    Coordinate priorities, plans, and status regularly with executive management and all users of information services and systems.

    Manage IT staff, including hiring, training, evaluation, guidance, discipline, and discharge.

    Develop the IT staff to meet the changing needs of users, groups and offices; new projects and technologies; and varying staff strengths.

    Manage outsourced information technology and outsourced security providers.

    Define, prioritize, and oversee projects for the improvement of business and mission systems capabilities, information security, business continuity/disaster recovery,

    Governance

    Develop standard operating procedures and best practices for the delivery and use of IT services; including written protocols and guidance to IT staff, internal end-users, and clients.

    Ensure the creation of “as-built” systems documentation and user manuals with appropriate updates for all modifications and upgrades.

    Manage all licensing requirements and develop organized license and asset database for all software and technology.

    Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures; including those for architecture, rights and permissions, security, disaster recovery, service levels, standards, purchasing, and service provision.

    Negotiate and administer vendor and consultant contracts and master service agreements.

    Define and oversee compliance with information security and business continuity/disaster recovery policies through incident management, ongoing training of personnel, and periodic audits and testing of vulnerabilities and system resiliency.

    Technical Operations and Project Management

    Oversee the security, availability, and stability of all systems and lead the development and growth of a global IT infrastructure.

    Develop service levels and track metrics for the availability and performance of all enterprise systems

    Oversee the provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.

    Oversee efforts to deploy, monitor, manage, and maintain servers, storage, security solutions, PC’s, networking hardware, and peripheral equipment.

    Oversee efforts to deploy, monitor, manage, and maintain multiple SQL server and data management tool environments, office productivity solutions, and other software.

    Business Engineering

    Oversee and prioritize tasking of the application specialists group in their efforts to support and standardize and constantly improve the use of technology in the delivery of services

    Identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement in business processes and supporting technology

    Work across the organization to lead the design, development, and implementation of new or improved business processes and technical capabilities to ingest, process, analyze, and produce information

    Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of MindsEye Discovery, kCura Relativity, and other tools used in the delivery of products and services.

    Provide technical support and project management for the design, development, and implementation of new products and services

    Lead the creation of a business intelligence capability to provide reporting and analysis to both internal and external user communities

    Travel, as necessary, to all US and global locations for IT requirements.

    Skills/Qualifications:

    Business Environment

    Experience in the legal/eDiscovery industry or with information management business processes to include classification and records management, archival, discovery , analysis, and production

    Experience in a multi-office, international environment

    Experience in business or legal process outsourcing

    Experience providing data/information management consulting services, analytics, SaaS, or other technical products and services to corporate clients

    Technical Environment

    Experience with the design and management of high-availability enterprise virtualization and storage, public and private cloud, and information security

    Knowledge of eDiscovery tools: MindsEye Discovery and kCura Relativity

    Knowledge of Business Intelligence and analytic capabilities: Tableau or similar analysis and visualization tools

    Project Management and Leadership Experience

    Ability to develop business cases for the investment in people, process, and technology to improve or expand technical and business capabilities

    Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff, to work the Executive Management of an organization, and to manage multiple concurrent projects.

    Demonstrated ability to build teams and develop talent

    Strong process management, project management, organizational, and time management skills.

    Ability to define and manage multi-year, multi-million dollar budgets for personnel, services, capital expenses, and projects.

    Ability to meet deadlines, to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products, and to take initiative in the development and completion of projects.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills.
