  Unique opportunity for an established security professional to help lead and grow a cyber security consulting practice.  This position will involve working with existing cyber security initiatives in cloud computer and healthcare markets as well as developing growing your own areas.  The position requires working as an individual contributor as well as leading team members.  The position is based in Reston, Virginia.
   

  Role Responsibilities

  • Build and initially operate a Security Operations Center (SOC) for an existing client.
  • Support security services for a cyber security offering in healthcare records management industry.
  • Lead breach response, security assessments, and penetration testing engagements from existing client base.
  • Work with a team of executives to identify and develop additional business opportunities in various areas of cyber security.

  Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, systems engineering, management information system, or similar, and 5-10 years relevant experience in the cyber security field.
  • Deep knowledge with incident handling, log management, networking and Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) systems (or equivalent combination of education and work experience)
  • Experience deploying and administering Splunk deployments to include:
    • integration with a wide variety of legacy data sources
    • customizing and configuring Forwarders, Indexers, and Search Headers
    • creating content (queries, dashboards, reports, and etc.)

  • Excellent client and team communication skills
  • Ability to develop business to create and grow a practice group.

  Preferences

  • Previous consulting leadership experience
  • CISSP, or other related certifications
  • Hands on experience with Enterprise Applications
  • Experience with software development, system architecture, and/or databases
