Description
A law firm with a nationally recognized intellectual property practice is seeking an associate with hands-on experience in life sciences patent litigation to join its team. The ideal candidate will have exposure to ANDA matters and/or other pharmaceutical or biotechnology patent disputes and will be comfortable taking an active role in litigation, including appearing in court, conducting depositions, and engaging directly with clients and opposing counsel. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys collaborative work, approaches complex problems creatively, and is eager to contribute to overall case strategy.
The position requires approximately two to five years of meaningful patent litigation experience, including work in U.S. District Courts and in post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Relevant experience may include case assessment and strategy development, factual and legal research, drafting pleadings and briefs, participating in discovery related to infringement, validity, and damages (including fact and expert depositions), preparing dispositive and discovery motions, contributing to claim construction efforts, and assisting with trial preparation and proceedings.
Strong candidates will have a background in the life sciences, such as an undergraduate or graduate degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field, along with prior experience in the intellectual property group of a comparable law firm. Excellent academic credentials and superior written advocacy skills are essential. The firm is an equal opportunity employer.
The anticipated annual compensation range for this role is $235,000 to $365,000, with final compensation determined by factors including geographic location, experience level, and overall qualifications.
